The weather forecast for today was for no rain and even, later, some sun.Being suspicious we took a careful look out of the window this morning and saw a light fog,but no rain.So the rain clothes stayed in our bags, and we set out in a damp, from the fog, slightly chilly but dry morning. After the first turn we came across a long ,but gentle, hill and the chilliness was forgotten in the exertion of the climb.A surreal landscape with the fog and lack of light, but a gentle one with no significant climbing, and some fast easy descents, the only thing lacking was a decent road surface-Ohio's road repairs have not got to this neck of the woods.
Lots of large houses set in mammoth plots were intermingled with mobile homes dumped on a concrete base and often times in need of repair, but usually with three or more cars parked alonside.Plenty of trees and bushes and a constant need to wipe the moisture from my 'sunglasses'.
A plate of scallops,9 or 10 after a plate of mussels and a bottle of a dry Chilean white. An excellent end to a splendid day,and the prospect of a lie in tomorrow!
2862 miles down, and only a few mountains left to climb !!!

We were first to complete the 36 miles to the first stop and as Elizabeth fancied a hot chocolate, and the stop was in a MacDonalds car park,we headed over there for the chocolate and a cappucino for me.As the others arrived we headed off to cover the 25 miles to the next stop.Interestingly we noted that the rivers seemed less inundated here and the ground less waterlogged.
The next stop was at the White Turkey Diner ,where the speciality was a Root Beer Float
You apparently eat the ice cream until it submerges under the root beer and then scoop the lot up,but root beer is far too sweet for us so we had a coke apiece.
The Diner is a sort of drive thru, specialising in turkey
That is Tom and his wife, who joined us recently but is not cycling, then Tom(Logistics)Ovi and Elizabeth.Excellent Turkey sandwich and back to the road, bound for Lake Eyrie.
En route we passed into Pennsylvania, but with the scent of the rest day in our nostrils, hardly stopped and sped into our hotel,to be surprised to find that it was right on the waterside with a fantastic view from our room.
Had a long and leisurely drink with a number of the folk, reminiscing about an enjoyable days cycle, before E and I went with Nan for a seafood dinner.2862 miles down, and only a few mountains left to climb !!!
