Our last rest day in a beautiful lakeside setting and it rained. To be honest it did not matter too much.We were lacking the energy to do a lot,so quite content to stay in bed until nearly 07.00,whilst the rain fell and the lake was barely visible through the mist.
As I wrote yesterday, last night we had an excellent dinner with Nan,but I forgot to sat that we walked across a sky bridge to get to the next inlet, and there found the Smugglers Wharf restaurant. The evening was beautiful so we sat outside but had to drink our wine from plastic cups as they do not allow glass outside.Has a significant deleterious effect on the taste.
A light breakfast in the hotel this morning ,Elizabeth did a little bit of washing,as the main load had been done in the machine yesterday, whilst I washed the bikes and chatted with all and sundry. After a cup of coffee we walked into the town. But it is really quite decrepit, old buildings in a state of disrepair and shops that offered very little. We found a few things for our lunch but arrived back damp from the rain. The air cleared very slowly and a slight amount of activity appeared on the lake.Canadian geese paddled by and the the swallows swept up the insects. The high light of the morning was when swallow perched on our window, three feet from my head.Just enough time for us both to have a good look at him,and he was gone.
A few days ago we saw this sign on the door of a restaurant.
Seems the restauranteur did not like British lawyers! We ate the same restaurant ,but this time with Heinz for company, quite a few other cyclists there to enjoy the fish.As the evening falls I will leave you with some of the boats that have passed our window today.
