I keep forgetting to mention that the URL below will take you to the Facebook page of Crossroads cycling where there are many more photos from this trip than I could possibly take.

Then to help put a face to a name
From left to right Charlie,Paul;Sohrab,Jeff,Nan,Me hidden,Elizabeth,Ken,Judi,Greg,Ovi hidden,Tom G,Tom F,Linda,Bill.
Today is Paul's last day on the tour,he has been under the weather with a temperature so will depart ton the advice of his physician .
Anyway the temperature was better this morning as we left Grants so we were able to dispense with the winter gloves and leg warmers.I am always happier cycling in shorts. As we left in the morning the wind was already strong and forecast to become stronger and gustier as the day progressed. The wind was from the south west and as we are always going East that meant we had a decent tail wind but at the cost of a constant push across to the left,or more graphically from safety into the path of the overtaking lorries! And it was a real risk, often a sudden gust would both propel one 10 metres forwards but often there was a perceptible wiggle into the traffic lane.Happily there were no casualties.
The average temperature for the day was 22°C but on our arrival in Albuquerque we enjoyed a very warm 33°C,so a quick shower was the order of the day.One puncture for Elizabeth today whilst en route and I developed a flat 1 mile from the hotel,so was able to pump the tyre and get here safely. The ever willing Peyton then found the thorn and replaced the tube. Thanks again Peyton.
One of our refreshment stops today was at a Casino,Tom the Logistics guru played a $5 bet and won $270,so very refreshing for him.
As we passed into Albuquerque we passed over the Rio Grande, and a sign on the bridge told us that the valley we passed over had become completely barren from overgrazing until it was made into a state park in 1983,the bosque is now well recovered.
So 874 miles completed, and one more ride before the second rest day.
Have tried to branch out today with a little video of one of the trains
Then the Rio Grande, and Paula being ,as always, helpful in retrieving unwanted clothes.
